Booster Club

Purpose

The purpose of the Tullahoma Band Boosters shall be the support of the bands at Tullahoma High School and the Tullahoma Middle Schools.  This organization shall seek to foster community interest in music and shall follow a non-intervention policy in regard to school administration and instruction.

 

Any family member of a student in the band program is encouraged to be an active participant within the organization.  People from the community are also welcome to be members of the Booster Organization.

 

The officers of the booster organization shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, to be agreed upon annually by the Band Director(s) and the Booster Steering Committee of the Band Booster organization.  Officers shall serve for periods of one (1) year [July 1 through June 30], or until successors are chosen.  The Vice-President shall usually follow the outgoing president as president for the next academic year. The officers, parent representatives from each class, and the coordinators of committees shall constitute a Steering Committee along with the Band Directors.  Ex-officio members, such as the Director of the Tullahoma Schools, Principal of Tullahoma High School, and Principals of the Middle Schools may serve as non-voting members.

 

The President shall preside over all Steering Committee and Booster meetings.  Subject to the advice and direction of the Steering Committee, the President shall direct the affairs of the organization. Together with the Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, the President shall execute all official business of the organization.  The President, or an appointee, shall coordinate the organization’s fund raising activities.

 

The Secretary shall keep record of the proceedings of the steering and booster meetings and preserve all valuable papers of the Band Booster Organization. 

 

The Treasurer shall keep an accurate record of moneys received and disbursed and shall be prepared to make a financial report to the organization at regular monthly meetings. Unless otherwise specified, the President shall be designated as an alternate disburser (sign checks) of funds. The steering committee oversees the receiving and disbursing of moneys of the booster organization.

 

Regular meetings shall be held monthly August through May, at the time and place determined by the Steering Committee. Special meetings may be called by the Steering Committee upon notice to the Band Boosters.  No business shall be transacted at a special meeting except as specified in the notice.
