Tullahoma is a community that has long valued the arts. It is no wonder that a city with a regional fine arts center, a community concert association and a local civic center would also be home to one of the most respected school band programs in the southeast. The Tullahoma Band provides music instruction of the highest level to the students of the Tullahoma City School system, and has gained recognition from music educators nation-wide for its excellence. The Tullahoma Band excels in marching, concert, jazz and individual student achievements. The Tennessee Bandmasters Association presents the coveted "Sweepstakes Award" annually to bands that demonstrate excellence in all phases of instrumental music. The Tullahoma Band has received this award five times, an accomplishment that less than ten Tennessee bands can claim.  Keep checking our web site for information on our special activities. 

 

The Tullahoma Band program offers students a variety of instrumental ensembles in which to participate. It is the goal of the department to meet the needs of each individual enrolled in the instrumental music program. A brief course listing includes:

· Concert band

· Marching band

· Jazz band

· Chamber music

· Ensembles

· Honors instrumental music

· Private lessons

 

Highlights of the THS Band's recent achievements include:

· Performance in the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade

· Performance in the Fiesta Bowl Parade for a national television audience numbering in the millions.

· Presentation of a concert for the Tennessee Music Educator's Association State Convention.

· Performance at the request of the U.S. Department of the Interior in a ceremony in Hawaii commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

· Invitation from the Mexican government to present a concert in Mexico in honor of the 25th Anniversary of the founding of Cancun. 

 

The Tullahoma Band has a standing policy that states that "all students participate regardless of their ability to meet the financial responsibilities involved". 100% of all donations go directly to students benefits and are greatly appreciated.
