Tullahoma Band has purchased a subscription to SmartMusic. This one-of-a-kind practice software is an incredible home practice tool for our band students. It will help students stay motivated, practice more, and progress more quickly. Plus, it’s a lot of fun!

 

The SmartMusic code for our Tullahoma Band is TULLAHOMABAND.  This code allows you to purchase a one-year SmartMusic subscription at a reduced price of $25. The normal yearly subscription rate is $100.

 

How to get it:

1.          Visit www.smartmusic.com and enter the code (see above) to purchase your subscription. This subscription gives you access to the entire accompaniment library and all of SmartMusic’s features for one year from your date of purchase.

 

A microphone is required for recording, Intelligent Accompaniment, tuning and assessment. The SmartMusic microphone is available for $15 during purchase. If you already have a computer microphone, you might try it first. However, the smart music microphone is designed to clip on to the bell of the instrument, a music stand, or shirt depending on the instrument being played. Brass students may want to consider coupling SmartMusic with a Silent Brass electronic mute.

 

The SmartMusic CD-ROM and any accessories that you order will be sent directly to you. Shipping charges apply. You can opt to download the software if you don’t want the CD-ROM.

 

2.          When you receive SmartMusic, install it from the CD-ROM or from the location you downloaded it on your computer. You’ll be prompted to activate your subscription using the email address and password you created when you ordered. Activation takes a few minutes and requires an Internet connection. Though you don’t have to be connected to the internet to use SmartMusic, a connection is needed to download certain accompaniment files

 

3.          Start practicing!
